This is a work in progress. It is being submitted at this stage to coincide with the fifty year anniversary of Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto, California. [Ed. note - 1998]
The focus of this project is the importance of clear biblical preaching in the ministry of the church. Although it is primarily directed at pastors, it is also my hope to kindle in parishioners' hearts a desire to hear the Word preached. For too long, congregations have settled for the needs related "pottage" rather than sound biblical exegesis.
Many will notice that this work does not include a chapter about "Body Life." That was intentional on my part since my purpose was to limit my exploration to Ray Stedman's preaching. Perhaps in the finished version, a chapter about "Body Life" and one about the congregation at PBC might be included.
