Unintentional Sin   ( Leviticus 5 )  Daily Devotion

The Lord said to Moses: When anyone is unfaithful to the Lord by sinning unintentionally in regard to any of the Lord's holy things, they are to bring to the Lord as a penalty a ram from the flock, one without defect and of the proper value in silver, according to the sanctuary shekel. It is a guilt offering. Lev 5:14-15

This morning we come to the fifth chapter of Leviticus. Here we will deal with the last of the five basic, fundamental human needs represented by the five offerings which God taught the Israelites from the tent of meeting, the tabernacle. The trespass offering, or theguilt offering in the Revised Standard Version, is the last of these five. I am sorry that the revisors changed the word toguilt because the proper translation really istrespass.
